This family session in Fort Morgan, Alabama had some challenges. We had a beautiful sunset, but very young children. I have found when the children are this young their attention span for portraits is very low. We started out with the posed family portraits early so we could get something before the children got bored. After the group shots, I tried to work on the individual portraits of the children but they had enough of taking pictures. At this time we changed gears and I got more candid portraits. I don’t feel it is good trying to force something. As the sunset kept getting better, we worked on ways of getting beautiful pictures without having to pose or focus on the children. As such, the we got some great family interaction portraits and beautiful sunset portraits.
