Perdido Key Family Portraits on a Gloomy Day

The weather forecast for this family session was less than ideal. It was overcast, and the kind that just looks dull and dreary. I had a makeup day available but that one was supposed to be sunny but windy which isn’t good as well. I gave the family those options plus a refund option if they didn’t like the weather. They chose to go with the overcast day.

While the weather may have been gloomy, the family certainly was not. The one advantage these conditions gave us was nice soft light that didn’t cause any glare in the faces of the family. We had some family members that had trouble walking on sand so we got a few at the boardwalk to the beach. After that we moved around the beach and just had fun. This family did not let the conditions damper the fun!
