For this family session in Fort Morgan, Alabama, I had a little girl in the group that just would not stand in the sand. It was her first trip to the beach and she just did not like the sand. I can’t blame her on that one as I feel like I take the beach home with me after a family session.

Getting portraits of her standing on the beach was not an option. Fortunately, the family was very accommodating and understanding of the limitations. Instead of forcing her to stand, she was held by various family members throughout the session. There is nothing that can spoil the moment more than trying to force a child to do something they are uncomfortable doing. She wasn’t acting up or being difficult, she just didn’t want to walk in the sand. The family and I worked around the limitations and we still managed to get some great family portraits.
