We had very windy conditions for this family shoot at Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, Alabama. I gave the family the option to cancel with a refund of the deposit. However, this was the only time the family would be together so they wanted session to happen. I explored the beach ahead of time and couldn’t find any areas protected from the wind. I walked back to my truck on the front side of the condo and noticed the wind wasn’t as bad. I notified the family and they were good starting the session in front and then getting beach portraits afterwords. It turned out great considering. I wish I could order up calm winds and painterly backgrounds every session but if a family is willing to compromise we can make the shoot happen.
