Windy Senior Beach Portraits on the Gulf Coast

While I would like to order up perfect conditions for a beach session, we are simply at the mercy of then beach. On this particular afternoon it was very windy. One of the great things about Perdido Key is it is one of the last places in the area that is not developed. This means there are few distracting elements in the backgrounds and there are tall dunes to get behind. This is important because sometimes the wind dictates the position someone is standing if they have long hair.

For this session, the senior had very long hair and three outfit changes. We would take the safe shots in somewhat wind protected areas and then move around for more creative portraits. Fortunately we did have some beautiful skies that continually changed during the 2 hour session.
