Kiva Dunes Family Portraits | Fort Morgan

This family session at Kiva Dunes in Fort Morgan had windy conditions for the evening. When such weather challenges arise during a session, my priority is to locate a spot shielded from the wind. Fortunately, the boardwalk leading to the beach at Kiva Dunes proved to be the ideal setting to kick off the session. Not only did it offer a charming beach town atmosphere, but it also served as a welcome shelter from the gusts, ensuring a successful shoot.

Once we captured the "safe" portraits, we proceeded to the beach for the next part of the session. The beach offered a diverse range of lighting conditions due to the partly cloudy weather, allowing us to work with both soft, diffused light and more intense, direct sunlight. As the session progressed, the skies became mostly cloudy, presenting us with a chance to create striking and dramatic portraits towards the end of our time together.
